Natural vs synthetic chlorophyll

Why most green supplements are not what they seem.

Most commercial chlorophyll is not chlorophyll-a at all. The cheap, standard process, alkali hydrolysis, strips the magnesium core out (replacing it with copper or iron) and rips off the phytol tail, creating a synthetic derivative called chlorophyllin. It is greener and shelf-stable, but it is a different molecule.

The phytol tail is not decoration. It lets the molecule attach to cell membranes and it acts as a powerful binder that helps the body absorb and excrete heavy metals, dioxins, and microplastics. Natural chlorophyll-a also uniquely supports catalase, an antioxidant enzyme that breaks down toxic hydrogen peroxide into harmless water and oxygen. In cited research, natural chlorophyll-a almost completely suppressed a meat-derived cellular toxicity (a heme-induced effect linked to colon cancer), while synthetic chlorophyllin had zero effect. Keeping the molecule intact is the whole game.
