Stage 2: low-temperature vacuum extraction

Getting the compound out without breaking it.

The extraction dilemma is brutal: heat destroys the fragile nutrients, and the safe solvents are inefficient. Dr. Kim's answer is a low-temperature vacuum process. The biomass is placed under vacuum, which expands the cells by about 1.5 times, then extracted at low temperature (roughly 10 to 40 degrees Celsius) under vacuum.

Because there is no high heat and no harsh chemistry, the delicate phytol tail and the active ingredients survive intact. This is the step that separates a real, functional chlorophyll-a from the stripped synthetic chlorophyllin most of the industry ends up with.
